Official Statement on the Final List of Candidates for the WDSF Athletes’ Commission Elections 2025

The WDSF Athletes’ Commission elections for the PD Representative will take place from April 11 to April 13, 2025, at the 2025 WDSF DanceSport Festival in Blackpool, England.

Following a thorough review, the Athletes’ Commission has confirmed the eligibility of two additional candidates—Nikita Anikeev and Edgaras Baltaragis—for the PD Representative election.

Reason for Inclusion

Both Nikita Anikeev (February 22, 2025) and Edgaras Baltaragis (February 23, 2025) submitted their candidacy applications on time.

The submission deadline was February 25, 2025.
Due to an unforeseen technical issue with the email system, their applications were not initially received by the Athletes’ Commission.
The Athletes’ Commission has reviewed the timestamps and confirmed that their applications were submitted within the deadline.

According to Article 8.5.4 of the WDSF Presidium Operating Policy for the Athletes’ Commission, candidates must communicate their candidacy in writing to the Athletes’ Commission at least six (6) weeks before the election. The policy does not impose a requirement that the application must be received by the Athletes’ Commission within that timeframe.

Since both candidates submitted their applications on time, and the issue was purely technical, the Athletes’ Commission has determined that their candidacy remains valid. In light of fairness and transparency, their names have been added to the final list of candidates.
